Hypoallergenic Ingredients
Answering a Customer's Question about Hypoallergenic Product Guarantees
One of our readers asked:
Can companies really guarantee that their skincare products are hypoallergenic?
We are all unique individuals with very complex chemistries. So, I do not believe it is an honest practice to guarantee that something is hypoallergenic. To me, this term has been misused and has mislead many people into purchasing products that still contain the irritating ingredients like mineral oil and parabens.
Plant-based ingredients, if used correctly, are more "accepted" by the skin. That is, their molecular structure is closer to that of human tissue than their man-made substitutions. For this reason, we have VERY little problem with sensitivities with any of our products. We use only the highest quality extracts, oils, butters, waxes, etc in The Myrtle Leaf products and, therefore, CAN GUARANTEE that you are getting the best ingredients found in nature for your skin... the rest is up to your skin.
Oh, we use no perfumes in our facial care products. They are all beautifully aromatic because of the pure essential oils and other plant materials.
